Dedication

The Foundation has been dedicated to Lauren Paige Small. Lauren was born August 1st 1994 in Bakersfield California and lived with her parents and brother, Kevin, Tuesdy and Kyle Small. She loved animals! Dogs, cats, rabbits, she loved them all. One of her biggest passion was her horses. She became an accomplished rider in spite of her circumstance and would not let cancer define her. She won Rookie of the year in 2005 at the Bakersfield Open Horse show and Champion Walk/Jog in the 12 years & under division. She even placed in the overall top 10!

Lauren literally glowed with her infectious smile. Throughout everything she endured during her battle with cancer, everyone who ever knew her said, “Lauren’s smile was like a beacon”. Her life was cut short on Dec 1, 2005. But her Legacy still lives on. Our Angel is still smiling down on all the children that are fighting the same battle. She has been given quite a job, a huge honor. Bakersfield has dedicated its first pediatric Children’s Medical Center to Lauren. The Lauren Small Children’s Medical Center is serving the area with a comforting, state of the art healing center.

There is no doubt in this Grandma’s mind that if you just stop for a moment you will see that sweet smile. A smile that will give so many the strength to fight.
