Your organization does such great work!

As a Social Worker at Doernbecher, I often meet families who are in a state of crisis because their child has received a diagnosis of cancer. This serous, life threatening illness, can present a terrific challenge to families who need to be here with their child, but also need to attend the regular activities of keeping a household running and keeping bills paid. Parents cannot be in two places at once! So often, they are not able to be at work and don’t have a enough money tucked away to pay the rent or utilizes or other pressing need. I asked a mother who in the past year has had the support of the Small Miracles Foundation and this is what she said:

“The help from Small Miracles made a huge difference. I don’t know what I would have done without the help. We might not have been able to keep our apartment. Really, I was able to be here with my son at the hospital and give him 100% of my attention and car and not worry about paying the bills.”

This mom expressed great appreciation for this assistance. Her son is in the midst of treatment and she is very focused on his care needs. Small Miracles is very timely in processing the application for assistance. As Social worker who is on the “front line” of interacting with families I want to tell you how much I appreciate Small (Big) Miracles.

Best wishes,
